HAPPY CANADA D”EH”
I am PROUD TO BE A CANADIAN GIRL!
I LOVE my country! We are so fortunate to live in the most beautiful country in the world. Our country’s scenery changes from province to province and is equally as stunning no matter where in Canada you choose to travel.
To the west we have the stunning coastline, leading into the Rocky Mountains, then across the wheat fields and prairies, through vacation country with rivers and lakes, to the magnificent Niagara Falls, then into the historical farming areas of Quebec, and on to the gorgeous East coast with its rich red soil, beautiful coastline and rich heritage. To the North we have the most beautiful, and untouched region complete with glaciers, clean, freshwater lakes and the incredible Northern Lights. We are so lucky to have all of this within our country and we have the freedom to tour and visit it all.
Have a listen to one of my favourite Canadian folk songs; Something to Sing About. It puts into music how we all feel about our beautiful country.
There is nothing that makes me more proud than to put on my RED and WHITE, sport my Canada Flag and participate in Canada Day activities. What an incredible day! This year I spent the day with neighbours, friends, local residents and visiting tourists at Canada Day festivities.
It was an honour and a joy to lead our next generation of Canadian leaders, along with Ontario East Ambassador Daphne Rose, in the Canada Day Kids’ Parade. Despite some rain, we proudly wore our Red and White, the kids decorated bikes and wagons, skateboards and scooters and we officially kicked off the 2016 Canada Day celebrations.
After the parade we played with the kids, took pictures and then ran a concession stand complete with candy floss, popcorn, snow cones and candy treats. The day was topped off with an amazing fire work display later in the evening.
Although it was a rainy day it didn’t stop the community from coming out and celebrating the great country we live in. Events like this make me proud to be a Canadian, there’s no place I’d rather call HOME!
